Our approach

The material decides. Craft finishes the job.

Most companies sell a “turnkey deck”. We start a step earlier — with the wood itself — and finish a level higher: with the substructure you never see, but which decides how long the deck lasts.

Beneath every board sits a precisely graded substructure, adjustable pedestals and A4 stainless steel fixings. This precision is why hotels, developers and venues trust us with surfaces that are walked on every day, where a mistake is not an option.

We fasten boards in two ways. Face-fixed fastening — two screws through the board, anchored into the joist below. Hidden fastening with plugs — screws countersunk about half a centimetre below the surface and capped from above with a wooden plug matched to the board colour, so the surface stays smooth. On softwoods we also add ventilation spacers between joist and board, extending the life of the structure.

FAQ

What developers and venues ask most often

What’s the difference between a natural-wood deck and a WPC one?

Natural wood (larch, Garapa, Ipe, Cumaru and others) has a unique grain, warmth and ages into a patina — it needs occasional oiling. WPC is a wood-plastic composite — we build with the proven Terafest and Vinylor systems: it’s maintenance-free, colour-fast and slip-resistant, and just needs rinsing. We build both with the same precise substructure; the choice depends on the project, the traffic and the aesthetics.

Which wood species do you keep in stock?

We keep nine species in stock: larch, Siberian larch, Garapa, Massaranduba, Jatoba, Tigerwood, Merbau, Cumaru and Ipe. Larch is the most affordable, while Ipe and Cumaru are among the hardest and most durable decking woods in the world.

What warranty do you provide on a deck?

We provide a 25-year warranty on WPC Terafest. For natural wood we count the lifespan in decades, depending on the species and maintenance. We put the warranty on both material and workmanship in writing — commercial operations need certainty, not promises.

Do you also build for developers, hotels and commercial venues?

Yes, we work for developers, hotels, resorts, restaurants, hospitality chains and building managers. We supply physical samples and technical data sheets for the project documentation, a binding schedule tied to the construction phases, documentation and invoicing to a company, and a single point of contact for the entire build.

Do you also build decks for family homes and private clients?

Yes. Alongside commercial and developer projects, we build wooden and WPC decking as well as pergolas for private clients too — at family homes, in gardens and around private pools. The same process applies: we recommend the material, prepare samples and deliver a quote within a week.

Do you also supply pergolas?

Yes. We supply aluminium pergolas by Isotra and build bespoke wooden pergolas — either with a polycarbonate roof that lets light through, or a solid roof for year-round shelter.

How quickly can you complete a deck?

Thanks to our own installation team and wood stock, we keep lead times short. A typical commercial project takes 3–6 weeks depending on the area and material; we tie the schedule to the construction phases and hold the handover date.

What else besides decks do you build?

We build decks at buildings, roof terraces, jetties and poolside decks, pergolas (Isotra aluminium and bespoke wood), timber ventilated facades and cladding, fences and privacy screens. Renovation and maintenance of wooden decks — sanding, oiling and restoration — is handled by our specialist site renovaceterasy.cz.

What does the deck build-up look like under the boards?

Beneath every board is a precisely graded substructure (a fall of 1.5–2% to drain water), adjustable pedestals to level the surface, a gravel bed and corrosion-free A4 stainless steel fixings. On softwoods we also use plastic ventilation spacers — distance pads between joist and board that extend the life of the structure. This structure, which you never see, is what determines how long the deck lasts.

How do you fasten the decking boards?

We offer two fastening options. Face-fixed fastening: two screws through the board, anchored into the joist below. Hidden fastening with plugs: the screws start in the middle of the board, are countersunk about half a centimetre deeper into the wood and are capped from above with a wooden plug in the same wood colour — so the surface stays smooth. In both cases we use A4 stainless steel fixings.

Are poolside decks slip-resistant?

Wood isn’t slip-resistant on its own — so around pools and ponds we treat wooden decks with anti-slip coatings. WPC decking by Terafest and Vinylor comes with a slip-resistant surface straight from the factory.

Where do you operate?
